I worked in the vehicle maintenance department, where I was introduced to vehicle diagnostics, vehicle servicing, and received training in manual driving.

I served as the student representative on the Faculty Board for the Faculty of Mechanical and Chemical Engineering. During my tenure, I introduced the Resit Support System, which enlisted numerous teaching assistants to offer extra tuition to students in need. This initiative has garnered considerable recognition and attention, and I firmly believe it is an integral and lasting addition to our academic support framework.Additionally, I organized the inaugural Faculty Students Week celebration, a milestone event that fostered camaraderie and engagement within the faculty.My role as the Faculty President has taught me invaluable lessons in resilience, goal orientation, and focus.

Being the president of the Mechanical Engineering Students Association provided me with a significant platform and an invaluable opportunity to influence lives and instill hope and trust in student leadership within the university community as a whole.During my tenure in office, I collaborated closely with my fellow executives to accomplish the following objectives:Organizing a week-long industrial tour for all students in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The tour aimed to expose students to companies outside the university setting, such as Sano Asogli Power Plant in Tema, Cargill in Tema, Nestle in Accra, Volco in Tema, and TOR in Tema. This initiative effectively bridged the gap between classroom learning and real-world industry practices.Implementing the MESA Drive Policy, which focused on providing training for students in driving Class B vehicles and obtaining driving licenses, through strategic partnerships with Step Ahead Driving, we successfully brought this initiative to fruition, offering students a low-cost and flexible payment plan.Addressing the issue of lab organization by introducing a labeling system for the Mechanical Labs. Previously, students faced challenges locating specific labs within the department's lab center during sessions. Our team recognized this issue as a significant obstacle and swiftly implemented a permanent solution to ensure students could easily identify the labs they needed to attend.Facilitating academic and industrial seminars, along with social events like the end-of-year dinner, which provided a platform to recognize outstanding students beyond academic achievements.Serving as president has been an invaluable learning experience, providing me with essential skills such as effective planning and time management, proficient communication, negotiation abilities, tenacity, analytical problem-solving skills, and above all, organizational skills.

I worked as a design engineer alongside other team members to design a vehicle brake disk for local foundry workers in Suame Magazine, Kumasi. The aim was to enable them to produce standardized parts that can compete in the global market.
