My position as the vice president of PRSSA has been very educational. I work closely with the president, our advisor and the Student Organizations Council. I am the liaison between our guest speakers who attend our meetings and the other officers of PRSSA. I am in charge of the communication with our five officers and the president. I organize any organization fairs we attend as well as making sure each officer stays on top of their duties.

I handle recruitment of new members at the beginning of each semester while maintaining current and returning members. I encourage students not only to join our organization but to become active in it and help connect them with mentors, future employers and peers that I believe are suitable for them so they may become a successful PR student and professional.

As an intern for this non-profit I wear many hats. I enjoy being able to use and develop various skills everyday because it keeps me constantly on my toes. I am the creator of their monthly newsletter, the majority of their fliers and many of the press releases that are in the local newspapers. I also get to flex my creative muscles when we brainstorm fundraising ideas and new events. Along with writing, I've learned a bit of photography, videography and web design to add to my portfolio. I truly am blessed and very grateful to be able to hold this position. I have met many amazing and wonderful people in the Kyle, Buda and San Marcos communities. I've been interviewed by News 8 Austin, and regularly attend stock car races with pit passes because of this internship. However, the most rewarding experience has been to see the difference I can make in the community I live in by service and outreach.

I worked as an assistant camp director for a summer where my job was to plan and organize activities for children in between the ages of 6-14 to do over the summer while maintaining a fun and safe environment. I also managed 6 other counselors and their schedules as well as arranging field trips and contingency plans for adverse weather.
