One of eight members appointed by the US Congress to study the potential for a national women’s history museum. Tasked to develop an independent, bi-partisan plan that highlight themes and collections related to women’s history, and make recommendations on the museum’s location in our nation’s capital and how it might be financed, operated, and maintained. The Commission will present a report to Congress that answers these questions in the most inclusive, feasible, and thorough way possible.

Responsible in overseeing the carry out of the strategic plan and policies established by the Board of Directors.Serve as liaison between a staff of 50 and the Board of DirectorsLed organization to receive the ORBA Award for Nonprofit Financial Management Excellence.Successfully headed its $3.4 million capital campaign and moved main office to a newly renovated 14,000 square foot facility. Expanded services to a new office in North Riverside, Illinois.

The largest Latino arts Museum in the nation and the first and only Latino Museum in the nation to be accredited by the American Association of Museums.Hired to develop and implement the Museum’s first resource development office.Led the start and completion of the Museum’s $7.5 million capital and $1million endowment campaign.Instrumental in increasing the Museum’s operating budget from $800,000 in 1992 to $4,000,000 in 2000.Responsible for receiving a Kresge Challenge Grant-the first Kresge Challenge given to a Latino cultural arts organization in the nation.
