Chair - Interdepartmental Reference Group For The Victorian Rural Drainage StrategyDepartment Of Environment, Land, Water & Planning Sep 2015 - Jul 2018East Melbourne, Victoria, AuThe Victorian Rural Drainage Strategy (VRDS) set the policy and established a framework for the management of rural drainage in Victoria. The framework reviewed the history of rural drainage, clarified roles and responsibilities of agencies and beneficiaries, funding arrangements and the management of risk as well as outlined options for improving rural drainage management. The project team at the Department of Environment, Land, Water & Planning (DELWP) lead the development of the Rural Drainage Strategy in consultation with key stakeholders and the community. The Interdepartmental Reference Group was involved in the stakeholder engagement process. Providing input to discussion papers and reviewing of the draft strategy. The Rural Drainage Strategy has now been adopted and is being utilised across Victoria. -
