Peta Bulsara (MBA, Adel) has over 13 years experience producing drama for film and television and has a reputation for creating innovative production methodology, high production values and identifying new talent. Between 2017-2020, Peta produced The Heights Season 1 and 2, a 30 minute half-hour serial drama for the ABC, produced by Matchbox Pictures in association with For Pete's Sake Productions. The Heights was nominated for AACTA 2020 Best Drama Series, Screen Producers Australia 2020 Best Drama Series Production and won the 2020 MEAA Drama Series Ensemble Award amongst other wins and nominations. The Heights Season 1 and 2 was broadcast on BBC One in 2020 and became the most watched daytime television show of the year in the United Kingdom. An advocate for equity in the industry, Peta is proud The Heights achieved gender parity across Heads of Departments and also across the entire production in both Season 1 and 2, as well as creating many opportunities for emerging practitioners, with a focus on diversity, who have sustained their careers in the Australian screen industry. Peta's debut feature film was the independently financed, low-budget comedy The Marriage of Figaro (2009). Under the banner of For Pete's Sake Productions, Peta went on to produce the comedy pilot Heaps Good Hostel (SBS, 2015) and a 6 x 5 min romantic/black comedy series Almost Midnight (ABC iview, 2016) - named as "8 of the Best Australian web series" (Guardian 13/07/17). Amongst 'the juggle' with two small children, Peta uses her 'spare time' to write on her career's work of facilitating innovation in the production space and also curating a paper entitled "TO SEE IT, IS TO BE IT: CREATING EQUITY IN THE FILM AND TELEVISION INDUSTRY".Drama:*Producer - Series 1 & 2 'THE HEIGHTS' 30 x 26min drama series for ABC .
