I am a highly-experienced strategic management professional and executive director, with dual Irish and New Zealand nationality with strong leadership, organisational and entrepreneurial skills derived from a thirty year career in the public and private sector. I offer significant expertise in all aspects of international business, having lived in Japan, the US(New York and Boston), the UK (London)and New Zealand, including representational government roles for two countries. I am seasoned in engagement with C-Suite and senior politicians, economic development, investment attraction, business growth strategy and planning, delivering exemplary client support and energising high-impact teams to achieve first-class outcomes and revenues.Commercial acumen and leadership prowess saw me appointed to the Head of Europe at Invest Northern Ireland in 2016, taking on further responsibility for the Americas team before moving to Boston in September 2019 to focus on the region full time. I returned to London to build up Invest NI's GB and Europe team and expand its European footprint. Heading up a high performance team my focus is on how to further elevate success in investment attraction and build up our trade representation to support Northern Irish companies in market.My relationship, partnering and negotiating strengths proved their worth when I joined New Zealand Trade and Enterprise in 2009. As Regional Investment Manager in London I was accountable for the development of international trade, attracting foreign direct investment for the New Zealand Government across EMEA. As Consul General/Trade Commissioner in New York, I promoted the country’s interests city-wide and across the US, deploying my rich understanding of international business and market intelligence to focus on the development of trade relationships and help NZ companies achieve growth and profitability.Heading up a research and account management team at Euromonitor International enabled me to provide targeted strategy and business intelligence for a wide range of multinational companies, driving input into planning for organic growth, geographic expansion and new product launches. Using my entrepreneurial skills, I grew a highly-successful business unit, managed a top-ranking team of research and sales experts, expanded the country coverage and created a new income stream that grew to 10% of the organisation's turnover.
