SMART ADRIA BLUE GROWTH (SABG) is the long-term strategy to leapfrog the economy of the Programme Area (PA) by fostering the framework conditions for the Blue Growth of cross-border SME’s, while creating hybrid governance structures supportive of 4th industrial revolution. SA approach is an innovative marriage engagement of Blue Growth, Smart Specialization and Quadruple Helix of innovation - linking UNIversity, INDustry, CIVil society and GOVernment - to Accelerate the Transfer ofResearch and Innovation Results to Regional Blue Growth. The PA lags behind the European economy in terms of economic development and innovation, with main needs being the weak competitiveness of SME’s and their insufficient cooperation with clusters and research centers. Italy, Albania and Montenegro recognized SA as a key component of the economy of the countries, to be further developed also in the framework of international regional cooperation. SMART ADRIA aims to identifythe most promising local business sectors, define instruments and tools to promote Blue Growth and entrepreneurial culture into those economic sectors and create a joint strategy for GOVernment to manage efficiently the transition towards 4th industrial revolution.Main Outputs:-Three (3) virtual Blue Labs established IT, MNE, ALB supporting commercial exploitation, testing and piloting innovative products and services- 60 SME representatives received capacity building in Blue Growth- 6 SMEs (nodes) received non-financial support in Blue Growth sector- One full project concept jointly developed supporting Blue Growth in Smart ADRIA BG region- 100 SME and R&D reps using ON LINE Capacity Building platform in Blue Growth- 1 cross-border Blue Growth Cluster- SMEs received Blue Growth related services- 12 SME and R&D institutions reps. involved in Study visits to selected Blue Growth best practice locations
