EMEA Global Rates and CurrenciesP&L & Balance Sheet reporting & oversight:- Production, review and reporting of official daily P&L and its provision for VaR backtesting - Preparation of daily, monthly and quarterly trading P&L reports and substantiation to market events.- Balance sheet analysis (Capital, Liquidity, Exposures, Risk) including inventory aging and its reporting - Participated in the formulation of business strategy, plans, budgets and forecasts as well as ensuring all balance sheet related breaks are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.- Independent price verification – Sourcing pricing information and building pricing models for various bond and vanilla derivative positions in order to test traders’ mark-ups and market estimates.- Review of material new deals - Responsible for the development and analysis of key performance metrics as well as approval of changes to valuation adjustments and reserves, daily balance sheet and substantiation to transactional activity.Financial Oversight Functions:- Managing key accounting, legal entity, regulatory and P&L issues with the different lines of business - Acted as key member and advisor to Line of Business Senior Management team, providing decision support analysis and advice on the optimisation of business activities with regards to accounting rules, regulatory issues and legal entity structures.- Month-end close including Financial Disclosures and calculation and recording of netting entries – Ensured timely, accurate and controlled reporting of the Bank’s trade portfolio and disclosures in accordance with Basel III, IFRS and other regulatory requirements.- Ad hoc administrative duties - Constantly collaborated with Trading Desk, Risk, Operations, Middle Office and Finance departments in order to identify and resolve all queries and issues in relation to the Global Rates and Currencies desk activities.
