NSW Farmers is the champion of farming in NSW, advocating on the things that matter most to our 6700+ farming members. As CEO, Pete manages all facets of the NSW Farmers’ business ($200M+ assets under management) and leads a team of over 40 professionals across NSW. He works with the NSW Farmers’ Board to shape business strategy, manage organisational risks, monitor performance and to responsibly manage members’ funds. Pete interacts with key political, government and industry leaders daily, and has successfully built deep and trusting relationships with key stakeholders who share his passion and interest in advancing sustainable agriculture and regional growth.

Leading a network of 50+ Syngenta stewardship leads around the world, Pete integrated cutting-edge behavioural insights to modernize Syngenta’s approach to safety and sustainable agriculture training, extension and adoption. He helped shape the strategy around Syngenta’s Good Growth Plan, recognised as one of the most comprehensive and impactful corporate sustainability initiatives globally and played a central role in designing Syngenta's sustainability and ESG frameworks internationally.

As a member of the ANZ Territory Leadership Team, Pete directly contributed to the overall strategy development, oversight, and management of Syngenta’s $300M+ Australasian business. He was responsible for the corporate affairs and sustainable agriculture function for Syngenta’s crop protection, professional products and seeds businesses.

As a member of Syngenta’s ANZ Research and Development Leadership Group, Pete, had responsibility for product stewardship in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, supporting farmers to make safe and sustainable use of Syngenta’s crop protection products across broadacre cropping, horticulture and professional products.

Pete worked closely with farmer representatives from NFF’s 20+ member organisations to develop policy and industry initiatives to lead Australian agriculture forward. He played a key role in shaping NFF’s federal advocacy strategies and represented the Federation in a wide range of industry and government dialogue both in Australia and internationally.

Pete was selected on the DAF Graduate Program, where he was part of the Natural Resource Management (NRM) Strategies team. His role focused on policy analysis and advice relating to the NRM and sustainable agriculture, working closely with other Commonwealth agencies, R&D corporations, state governments, NRM and industry organisations.
