Pete is a licensed Professional Engineer in Oregon, especially qualified in both Civil and Geotechnical Engineering. He has over 30 years of professional highway transportation geotechnical experience in the most challenging geologic provinces in Oregon with notable boots on the ground, real-world, experience with resolving challenging construction and operational issues relative to geotechnical construction with a focus on bridge foundations, landslide and rockfall hazards, as well as roadway and foundation scour. He believes in putting in the effort necessary to achieve quality project deliverables while ensuring cost containment with a strong consideration for critical thinking relative to both practicality and maintainability. Pete is working with Shannon and Wilson’s Lake Oswego office as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer and quality control reviewer for challenging geotechnical projects and operational issues in Oregon. Pete is well experienced in landslide characterization, analyses and mitigation, rockfall hazard mitigation, bridge foundation design and seismic hazard evaluation. He provides technical leadership and review of designs for public agency transportation projects. He also provides training and mentoring to technical staff in areas of expertise. Pete graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering focusing on Geotechnical Engineering and is a 30 plus year member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He is also a certified Structures Specialist by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for Urban Search and Rescue efforts with additional training in seismic damage evaluation and assessment for bridges and buildings (ATC-20).
