Pete is passionate about the British countryside, its wildlife and natural environment and loves nothing more than rolling up his sleeves and getting mud on his boots. Born and raised on a mixed farm in the midlands Pete worked in the Environment Agency and predecessors for 30 years in a wide range of regulatory, technical and leadership roles including climate change, water and waste regulation, planning, biodiversity and flood risk management. Previous to this he worked in the voluntary sector, in wildlife conservation. He has a first degree in agriculture, an MSc in wildlife conservation, a PhD in river management and has an honorary professorship from Dundee University, in recognition for his ongoing contribution to environmental protection. Pete is a Chartered Environmentalist and a Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment. He has recently joined the Board of Natural Resources Wales.
