1993-1996 Benn Iron Foundry Mould MakerResponsibilities: Sand casting facility that produced parts for trains and train brake systems, as a mould maker I produced sand casted moulds to be poured by the melt and pour department. I also worked in all other departments including the core room where I assembled complex cores for the mould making process; charging the furnace where I would load charging buckets with scrap iron and specific additives to obtain the desired properties of alloy; ductile iron and grey iron where produced by this method; I was also responsible for the nodular testing of the grey iron after a charge was complete. I also worked in the Melt and Pour department where I operated a ladle and would pour molten metal into moulds at 2250 degrees Fahrenheit, also worked as a shaker operator where I used the hoist/overhead crane and pneumatic vibrators to remove sand after the casting had been poured. In the grinding room I also setup and performed finish grinding procedures of cast parts to customer specifications. Worked in pattern repair where I would repair or machine new pattern pieces as required. One of my primary duties was as a 3230 and 2016 specialized machine operator, which were both dedicated machines for the production of master cylinders and other detailed molds. Supervise, train and lead secondary operators on these machines. Maintain machinery and company assets as per company policy, perform preventative maintenance as per schedules.
