I've served in the U.S. Army, worked as a commercial roofer in Texas, written a blog on finance, managed bars and restaurants, worked as a sound engineer, played music professionally, built houses, served as the mayor of oJackson, WY, owned a custom cabinetry shop, written for a newspaper, wrote and recorded an album nominated for record of the year in Wyoming, and currently own an event production company.I've had a wide range of experiences which help me connect with people from all walks of life. My verbal and written communication skills allow me to be both accurate and concise.In my previous job as Mayor of Jackson, WY, I was responsible for setting agendas, chairing all public meetings, working with the town attorney, appointing members of and liaising with public boards, and crafting a wide range of policies in diverse areas of government including budgeting, zoning, master planning, affordable housing, capital improvements, taxes and fees, project approvals, transportation planning, conservation and climate sustainability. My ability to analyze public policy, and to communicate persuasively with both the public and other elected officials was critical to my success in that position.
