A Chartered Minerals Surveyor and qualified Mining Surveyor, with over 40 years experience in the Surveying profession and the Mining industry, I formed PMC Surveys (Peter Munby Consultancy) in 1994 after 23 years with British Coal.The Company has been involved in Laser Scanning, Topographical Surveying, Movement Monitoring, Volumetric Surveys, Subsidence Engineering, Boundary Disputes, Mine Surveying, and anything involving spatial measurement and manipulation of measured data. Channel Tunnel Rail Link Contract 342, Kent.

Responsible for design, installation and maintenance of monitoring schemes on structures affected by the construction of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link. Managed survey teams and advised/reported to Main Contractors.

I trained and worked as a Mine Surveyor at collieries in South Yorkshire, moving to Headquarters to specialise in Subsidence Engineering and Minerals Management. I was responsible for the management and running of the Mining Reports Office at British Coal South Yorkshire Area, and Subsidence Appraisals for the Corporation's operations in British Coal Northern Group.
