About Pete Oram, Mba
Its Incredible to look back at your own evolution over time. I rarely get the chance and take the time to reflect on the realities of what has put me in the moment that I am in today. When I think back to those life changing moments I always felt lost and unsure but its funny how when you reflect it looks as though it was clear all along. What I know now are my business passions of strategy, people leadership and business development bundled into a focus on being a part of solving the worlds food challenges. To get to this point...some key times in my life could have led me a very different direction. My roots in rural Ontario are what represent my core personality and stay with me in whatever I do. I took a business degree as my undergraduate area of study having no exposure to economics or accounting, yet somehow I thrived.Next I joined an agriculture organization having only stepped foot on my grandmothers family farm as a young boy. It is where I learned about perseverance and dedication. I was fortunate to be granted opportunities to take on various management roles in operations, sales leadership and general management and I learned to connect the parts of a business. My insight over this time has led me to my first belief that I wish to share and that is that a business is truly about people and how crucial it is to get the people things right, that being the internal team and the external customer and other stakeholders.I reflect on my mentors that have been my personal board of directors over the years and know that I would not be who I am without them. Their influence has been nothing short of transcendent and I realize the importance of becoming more like them to others. This leads me to my next belief and that is the importance of "who got you here", not "who will get you there". I am humbled each day by the skills and abilities of those I keep learning from and am grateful for those who have had patience with me and supported my development.
