Promoted to my current role in January 2018, leading a Team of Engineers, with responsibility for their Line Management, Performance Management, Coaching and Mentoring to ensure the delivery of key Infrastructure Projects within the KPMG UK and UK Hosted Global Infrastructure. The role involves working with Senior Business Stakeholders, Technical Architects, Project Managers and the Service Operations Teams to deliver end to end Solutions into the KPMG UK and Global Businesses. Examples of key projects I have been involved include the Essential Infrastructure Upgrade (EIU) programme, in which I was engaged as a key SME in feeding into the strategic decisions KPMG make about future Platforms. I had overall Design / Technical responsibility for the implementation of a new Veeam / HPE StoreOnce Data Protection Solution into the KPMG Global Business, this involved working with 3rd Party Vendors, the Business, Technical Teams and Service Teams within KPMG to design and implement the Solution. In addition to this I have been integral in a number of Service Improvement initiatives, including Change Management and multiple Process Improvement and Automation opportunities. I have also been involved in a number of projects that have involved either acquisition of companies or more recently a separation activity, where I have provided my input as a key Subject Matter Expert with regards to all Infrastructure aspects of these projects.

Currently involved in deploying the EMC Data Protection Advisor (DPA) product into the business and the migration of all of the businesses business critical data and applications from IBM DS8300 / DS8100 Storage to a new IBM DS8870 Storage PlatformsWorked with the following technologies / product sets, EMC NetWorker, IBM TSM, Fujitsu CentricStor, IBM 3584 and Oracle SL3000 Libraries, Brocade DCX SAN Directors, , IBM DS8870/DS8300/DS8100/V7000/DS4800 Storage Arrays running SVC (Virtualisation), IBM Global Mirror on the DS8000 systems managed by TPC-R, EMC Celerra NS480, NS120 NAS Storage utilising CIFS/NFS and NDMP. Operating systems used within the Enterprise include AIX, ESX/VMWare, Windows 2000-2008, Linux RHE and SUSE.

As a Backup Specialist at KPMG my role involved the design, implementation and management of KPMG’s Backup and Recovery Solution. The Backup and Recovery Infrastructure comprised 8 Backup Servers and multiple Storage Node (Media servers),, running a range of EMC NetWorker 7.x versions, utilising Exchange, RMAN, SQL, ORACLE, SQL, NDMP and EMC Timefinder Business Suite Modules.to protect 800+ clients across multiple locations. Backup targets included a range of Backup to Disk, Quantum Fibre Channel and SCSI attached Tape Libraries, hosting LTO and DLT tape technologies. Key responsibilities also involved direct input into the Disaster Recovery / BCP Programme, Management reporting and data recovery of business critical data.

2002-2005 Technical Support SpecialistI was based onsite at a major client location; my primary function involved leading the Architectural Design and Support of the clients Backup / Recovery Infrastructure. Working within the Toolset Support Team, I also supported a range of applications such as HP OpenView, HP ServiceDesk, AlarmPoint, Genesys, Spectrum, CiscoWorks; this also involves some DB support.I worked very closely with the UNIX support team and have built Sun Servers with the Solaris 9 OS in Raid 0+1 configurations and documented the build process. The role also involved providing 24 x7 callout for the OS and Applications identified as business critical and supported within my team. 1995-2002 Shift Support Analyst / Shift Team LeaderThe role involved working on numerous client-facing sites in an Operations, Desktop and Server Support role. I was promoted to Team Leader in February 1999, with responsibility for 6 staff. Duties included team management, customer liaison, reporting and user administration (on a number of platforms). I was also responsible for the environment wide Legato NetWorker backup solution management. Supporting the following OS platforms, UNIX (Solaris, HP-UX, AIX), Windows (/95/NT/2000, XP), Novell, VMS, MPE/MPE and VOS systems.
