Police Constable - North Area TaskforceMetropolitan Police Aug 2016 - Jan 2017Islington, Brent And Camden BoroughsThe North Area Taskforce (NTF) is focussing on specific crime types that is currently directly affecting North London. The NTF comprises of 6 teams consisting of 30 PCs, 5 Sergeants and an Inspector from the boroughs of Harrow, Ealing, Islington, Camden, Brent and Barnet boroughs and is currently based in the Islington and Camden areas working with Operation Attrition. Through proactive plain clothed patrols the NTF is tackling theft offending, primarily moped enabled theft, and also crime which directly effects the Night Time Economy of Camden borough. Alongside advanced drivers and a team of detectives from Operation Attrition the NTF will seek to diminish the capabilities of those committing wide scale robberies and thefts on members of the public in North London by way of proactive patrols, crime hotspot tasking and executing arrest warrants. Recently we have been asked to support Brent Borough with regards to the rise of gang tensions due to recent violent incidents in the borough. Again through plain clothed proactive policing the aim is to disrupt the carriage of weapons by known nominals in the area and prevent confrontation between the two main gangs responsible for a large part of the recent spike in violence. -
Safer Neighbourhood Team (Southall Green) Police ConstableMetropolitan Police Dec 2014 - Mar 2016Ealing BoroughPolicing a unique ward within the Ealing Borough. Concentrating on disrupting and eradicating specific ward priorities such as drug dealing, anti social behaviour, prostitution and burglary through a mixture of high visibility policing and plain clothes operations and initiatives. Southall Green is one of the busiest Police wards in West London constantly providing unique Policing challenges. With over 40% of the Ward being born outside of the UK with a significant Sikh, Muslim and Hindu population, knowledge of the complex and intrinsic cultural values of the various religions and ethnicities was vital. I found working closely with what is a very Pro-Police community was both rewarding and ultimately crucial in helping to reduce these priority crimes within the ward. Having first been introduced to Southall via a Daily Mail article "Welcome the Slums of Southall" , my experience of policing this unique ward could not have been more different. A strong sense of community identity exists with a backbone of religious and ethnic tolerance despite the vast number of different ethno-religious groups within the area. Southall was, and is, a very rewarding place to begin my career. -
