Scope of Operations:Responsible for the welfare and training of soldiers conducting theater foreign counterintelligence investigations and force protection operations in a forward deployed military intelligence unit in South and Central America and the Caribbean in direct support of United States Army South (USARSO) and United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) area of responsibilityConducted counterespionage investigations, and force protection demonstration coverage for USARSO and personnel security investigations (PSI’s) for the Defense Security Service.Specific AccomplishmentsSelected as Lead Agent for the only counterespionage investigation section in Panama.Investigated and reported on counterespionage incidents directed against the U.S. Army in Panama. Initiated 15 espionage investigations, including five national level investigations. Closed over 30 investigations.Controlled sensitive reports, evidence, and classified documents pertinent to ongoing investigations. Revamped the unit’s counterespionage certification program; created and successfully trained five subordinates in counterespionage and countersurveillance techniques.Conducted summary and operational briefings for the Senior Intelligence Officer in Theater.

Republic Of Honduras

Scope of Operations:Conducted overt liaison with Central American military, intelligence, medical and law enforcement officials to develop force protection information. Conducted liaison with U.S. diplomatic, security, intelligence, and military personnel in all seven U.S. embassies and various military groups in the Joint Area of Operations (JOA). Conducted site and area surveys, intelligence briefings and threat assessments in support of force protection for U.S. military deployed in the JOA. Conducted PSI’s in the JOA in support of the Defense Security Service.Specific AccomplishmentsInitiated, investigated, and closed 17 PSI cases and pursued 85 investigative leads throughout the JOA.Updated and improved the SOP for conducting PSI cases throughout the JOA.Conducted professional development training for other counterintelligence personnel on PSI’s.Deployed to JOA to conduct Force Protection Site Surveys and Installation Threat and Anti-Terror Vulnerability Assessments.Cross-trained other intelligence personnel in counterintelligence operations and techniques in conducting Official Liaison and Force Protection Site Surveys.Recognized by the Commanding General, Intelligence and Security Command and the Director, Defense Security Service for exemplary performance.

Scope of Operations:Conducted Force Protection Site Survey Missions and Counterintelligence Force Protection Source Operations (CFSO) in the Republic of Panama.
