Investigated and determined root causes of supplier quality defects and built CA plans to mitigate future risks. Visited suppliers and source inspectors to verify quality processes and ensure and improve upon best practices.

Led 87A8 manufacturing team, including 32 represented employees and 5 engineering support members to supply 25 programs. On boarded 12 new employees to LM and the coating team and cross trained multiple employees to mitigate risk and improved flow to reduce span time and increase performance. Developed and implemented 20+ process improvements, including the re-layout of the entire work area up to $2M of savings. Responsible for chemical inventory and disposal as well as tool and machinery calibration(s). 6 SIA's facilitated as black belt and mentored 7 green belts.

Priced material on new business proposals for various governmental, commercial and international customers using the corporate wide SAP/LMP2P purchasing system. Provided FAR compliant solutions while constructing estimates on 35 proposals for an estimated $60M by troubleshooting bill of material issues and escalating appropriately for 16 different programs. Generated cost impact of $20M+ through negotiations with suppliers to guarantee best pricing was competitive and compliant. Facilitated a (LM-21 Green Belt) process improvement SIA event that resulted in the creation and implementation of the MCE Metrics Log.

The campus fitness center is used by over 1000 students and grad students daily. As a fitness center supervisor, one must greet each individual upon entry. Supervisors must be knowledgeable of how each and every piece of exercise equipment works, as well as how to clean each piece and make minor repairs.

Supported the project management team with schedule tracking, subcontractor management, bid solicitation, cost analysis, submittal processing, daily reporting, field progress photo log, and quality control inspections. I supervised up to 25 people when negotiating contracts and managing subcontractors through a complex, multi-phase procedure to clean the heat recovery steam generators (froth flush, degrease, and steam blow down). Throughout the internship I worked alongside the President, Vice Presidents, and other senior managers throughout the estimation and bid processes. I observed and participated in conference calls for multiple project schedule and contract updates and inquires. Throughout the summer and fall of 2013 I updated the company website and other marketing literature with new programs and inventive designs.

Hands on experience in an industrial setting; learned about continuous casting of steel by means of lubrication systems, hydraulic systems, torch systems, and mechanical repairs.Read and interpreted general arrangement engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics to aid the senior engineers in designing new projects and modifying existing equipment and structures. LMF Platform, Shroud Manipulator, Torches.Conducted personal engineering projects throughout the summer to update current equipment to be safer, more efficient, and easier to maintain. Largest projects: torch car extension, shift table conduit lines, and torch area safety systems.Coordinated with workers and contractors to schedule jobs to improve efficiency and productivity.

Assisted in estimating costs when measuring and shipping valuable materials overseas.Researched and learned about the company’s optics, their uses, and their prices. Selected as leader of the asset recovery process for the Saxonburg office. Team recycled and recovered over $100,000 of parts in three months. Materials ranged from Yttrium Aluminum Garnet to highly radioactive Selenium. Created and implemented the first companywide tutorial on the asset recovery process (greatly decreased training time). Completed three day hazardous training workshop.
