• Reverse-engineered MIPS & ARM firmware on embedded devices running Linux alongside a team of four, gaining an in-depth understanding of consumer device RF protocols• Discovered a means of running a version-agnostic binary on an embedded platform using C and assembly• Added a caching layer ontop of Kubernetes and MinIO taking job runs from over 9 minutes to 30 seconds• Programmed a Python library now used by 5+ internal projects for analysis of firmware and metadata extraction• Created a Web GUI using TypeScript, React, and MaterialUI to aggregate and display analysis results

Full-Stack developer diving into feature work and bug fixes for a complex codebase. Hands-on practical experience with Git on a large mono-repo across 50+ members, but was the only intern among my eight subteam members and functioned as a new hire.As a part of in-between release work, fixed high-severity bugs across the PHP and React frontend code, authorization issues in the Python middleware, and issues in the bash + TCL operating system. Created new automation for debugging and validating fixes in the PHP codebase.As a part of the feature release, I migrated the User Account management page from PHP to React + Typescript, with unit tests written with Jest. Wrote supporting backend code, including PHP RPCs to interface with outstanding business logic, and Python API endpoints that interface with our Redis-backed database.

Works with nonprofits to develop software solutions.Fall 2022 - Developer for Kotahi, an open-source scientific publishing tool that aims to improve the scientific publishing process by developing a dashboard for journals to manage and review publications. • Reverse-engineered a closed-source ARM-based modem and modified functionality in order to exfiltrate valuable cellular data typically disarded• Developed a system to automate function annotation and type-guessing with Ghidra, successfully renaming and retyping 80k+ functions to aid in the reverse-engineering process• Emulated a complex .NET modem debugging tool with 3000+ lines of Python for future modem exploitation

Completed a semester-long security research project under Professor Kirill Levchenko. I explored the security and safety of same-process python execution, as well as options to safely sandbox untrusted user code. I identified and exploited a critical security flaw relating to this in the Illinois PrairieLearn grading system. I then provided mitigations to the PrairieLearn development team.
