I managed the proposal and negotiation effort for the T-11 and HEADS projects totaling over $XXXM in new business for BAE Systems. I executed these projects as the primary business contact with Naval Air Command (NAVAIR), Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP), PM Air Warrior, US Army Soldier Systems Center Natick. I reported monthly financial and programmatic performance of each project to executive staff using Earned Value Management (EVM) tools such as Estimate to Complete (ETC), Earned Value (EV), Schedule and Cost Variance (SV & CV), Estimate at Complete (EAC), Risk and Opportunity Registers, Cost and Performance Indices (CPI and SPI) among others. Under previous ownership (Simula) as Sr Project Engineer, I performed the airbag and restraints engineering function for Cockpit Airbag Systems for Kiowa Warrior (OH-58) and Blackhawk (UH-60) helicopters. Trained in DO 178B airborne software certification methods. Managed changes and performed failure analysis and reporting on hardware and software. -

The components re-qualified included seatbelt webbing, progressive die stampings, fine blanking, and machined components. -

European Group Leader – Application EngineeringTrw Automotive Occupant Restraint Systems Oct 1997 - Oct 2000Friedrichshafen, Baden-Württemberg, DeAfter my return to the US from Germany, I was assigned as key member of a team to transfer TRW’s Heated Gas Inflator (HGI) engineering authority from Detroit Mi. to Mesa Az. After this transfer, I was the Applications Engineer responsible for launching the HGI production in Peterlee England. During production launch I was a key engineering contact for frontal air bag gas generators for International customers including Daimler, BMW, Fiat, Toyota and Nissan. One of these European vehicles was recognized for the highest level of safety for the year 2000 using our technology. Our technical team went on to developed a “Dual-Stage” gas generator that provided safe airbag deployment for children and small adults. My career at TRW culminated in supervision of a small group of Applications Engineers focused on the European market. -
Expatriate In Alfdorf Germany: Applications Engineering Project LeadTrw Automotive Occupant Restraint Systems Oct 1995 - Oct 1997Friedrichshafen, Baden-Württemberg, DeWhile living and working in TRW’s headquarters in Alfdorf Germany, I managed TRW and Ford Motor Company’s first application of side impact airbags. TRW was awarded system level responsibility for qualification of this product. This project was successfully launched with a small group of engineers I supervised in Germany. As the project Application Engineering lead I coordinated with Ford’s supply base in England, Belgium, Germany, France and Austria to integrate this thorax airbag into the driver and passenger seat. I was the technical lead during sled testing in Alfdorf and full vehicle level crash testing which was subcontracted to Porsche at their Weissach development laboratories. I also coordinated efforts with TRW’s electronic systems division which supplied crash sensors for this effort. I traveled to Cologne and London monthly to report project status to the customer (Ford). -
