About Pete Constant

With a rare blend of academic, private, nonprofit, and public experiences, I am an educator with a primary focus on public policy, public administration, criminal justice, and civic engagement.I have a range of strengths and draw on multiple perspectives to deliver instruction to undergraduate and graduate students. Through the years, I have been CEO and founder of profit and nonprofit companies in addition to an advocate of public policy changes, a government employee, a union leader for public workers, and a police officer. These roles give me a deep understanding of government, community issues, and workers’ rights. I know how to get things done right while breaking down barriers and fostering bipartisan collaboration. With an accomplished career trajectory, I have led statewide initiatives in partnership with diverse stakeholders, leveraged innovative technology to empower citizens and give them a sense of civic ownership, and led the fiscal reform necessary to lead a city through economic uncertainly and recession. I actively participated in the design, negotiations, and legislative drafting of extremely successful bipartisan reforms.
