PM for London (Fire project).

Responsible for running all day to day activities with the customer and co-ordinating central team activities within London. These activities ranging from installations, testing, documentation and meetings with the customer, end user and 3rd parties suppliers.Solved major training equipment issues; London Fire Brigade, by delivering complete vehicle equipment early.In April 08, took over two more counties (Essex and Suffolk) on the same project, to overcome customer liaison issues, at the request of the programme manager.In September 09, took over Phase C in the East of England, whilst also covering London Phase B and C, at the request of the programme manager.Took over running London Ambulance project in November 09 at the request of the programme director, in addition to the fire services.

Responsible for: the co-ordination & installation of all radio and cellular communications infrastructure and associated equipment within the T5 area. This covered 3 concourse buildings, all tunnels (2 train), and the airside area around T5. All testing and quality issues involving radio communications.All issues with suppliers and coordination of delivery to site (4 separate companies).All design evaluation and problem solving on site between the design team, BAA and other departments.All method statements, documentation and risk assessment for the installation work, and the compliance of the installation team.Management of all risks for the project.Received 3 high 5 awards from BAA whilst on the T5 project, for outstanding contribution to the systems project.During the last 4 months, I also covered as night health & safety assistant for NTL.

Analysing radio coverage information from external companies for the Airwave system and representing the Police in meetings regarding results. Also carrying out coverage testing in areas of major concern.Responsible for the procurement, evaluation and selection of specialists' equipment across the force (covert).Responsible for providing technical and administrative support of existing radio and Airwave equipment, including control room systems, mobile, handheld radio sets and coverage issues for the force. Writing Airwave accreditation documents, Airwave security documents and drafting policies and procedures for the force, including security documents.Responsible for all ancillaries for radio equipment, including, testing, procurement and issue. Responsible for all aspects of air to ground communications (voice and video), including running and supervising external contractors on tower work.Investigation of work related with Airwave project - specifications, and documentation. Implementation and management of Airwave related project work and analogue systems.Responsible for all training areas on ICCS, and advice to control room on operation of ICCS and Airwave. Designed and delivery of training package for all radios used across the force.Responsible for the issue (including profiles) and accounting of all handheld terminals across the Force.

Responsible for procedures and recommendations for the use of Tetra and other communication equipment, within the Force. Covering planning of implementation and testing of equipment, verification of coverage for Tetra. Also, covering security issues, and the Airwave (Tetra) accreditation documentation.

Responsible for the running of projects assigned by senior project manager, reporting to operations director.All projects run under Prince 2 methodology. Taken over 3 international Tetra projects with major problems, and completed. Tetra Radio System, successfully completed. Overcame major capacity problem with engineering solution in Lima, Peru. This included coverage/frequency planning, installation of sites (antennas), testing of the network.Delivered £3,500,000.00 Tetra project to international organisation (UN) ahead of time and under budget, project was extended to other countries. This was a £24,000,000 call off project. This included coverage/frequency planning, installation of sites (antennas), testing of the network.DTI development project, with Mountain Rescue Team in Ambleside, Shown on BBC news, and on Tomorrows World (27th March 2002). Project Manager over total project, including 3 other companies. Created SAT, FAT and FDS documents for each project.

Responsible for all telecommunications projects from requirement definition to sign off. Including component identification, testing, trials, and costing. Also running and supervising external contractors on all projects. Responsible for implementation of trial satellite (T-SAT) systems in Scotland.Investigated and resolved a major synchronisation problem on CommerzBank networks that competitors failed to identify. Saving customer's contract worth several £1,000,000. Responsible for carrying out testing on major networks and writing technical reports with recommendations on the way forward. Co-ordinated and ran the rollout of Cable & Wireless enhancements to their level one to three synchronisation clocking system across the UK. Carried out all 'cutovers' and training. Enhanced customer-engineering relationship, resulting in 4 more contracts. Two worth more than £4,000,000, and training courses of £15,000 each. Wrote all SAT documents, test scripts and training material and delivered training.Projects also covered in Russia, Maldives, Philippines, USA and across Europe.

Responsible for the complete operational maintenance of battle field communications equipment for the Squadron. Successfully planned and implemented communication infrastructure in mobile battlefield conditions.Resolved major repair issues with TA regiments in the Brigade during deployment by pulling all Brigade repair resources to one location during the deployment and maximising engineers and equipment available.Repaired a complicated battlefield encrypted network, whilst maintaining 100% operability.Achieved best Squadron during RSIT (Royal Signals Inspection) in Corp and best Squadron in Regiment three years running.Responsible for career path of all technicians, and input to appraisals.

Responsible for maintaining 15 main static sites across Scotland and Northern Ireland, the installation of all communications equipment and the control of Mould radio system (LOS and Omni directional) across Scotland. Introduced and ran eleven station computer training facility for all trades, a total of 500 people. This project was completed at zero cost and was opened by the Princess Royal, whom I escorted and briefed for the occasion.Solved HF antenna problem on Edinburgh Castle, obtained new antennas and ran trials to assert the best equipment for the requirements. Antennas must not be visible, but must out perform current antennas.

Teaching Electronics, AC/DC theory, digital techniques, and basic signalling skills.

Course was extended due to Falkland's deployment and additional training required on new equipment, just deployed to the Falkland's.
