Personal Exerience

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

  • I was gifted a Commodore Vic 20 (5K of RAM) when i was about 9 and spent hours programming basic language, typing lines and debugging with my eyes before i realized that i didn't like the idea of software development.
  • Shortly after this, I got into the hardware side and added all manner of peripherals (tape and disk drives, expansion boards, modems) and a GUI to my subsequent Commodore 64
  • By the age of 12 i was building and supporting Microbee (Australian Designed!) BNC Client/Server networks for my primary school.
  • Not long after, my father bought a 286 Intel based machine and i was involved with upgrading it though 386/486 and Pentium.
  • Ultimately I taught myself to pull any computer/device down to its bare parts, then put it all back together, get an OS/GUI and apps and network connectivity back for a useful networked machine.
