Created, presented, and won management approval for the business plan, investment strategy, operational strategy, sales & marketing strategy. Identified product and service suppliers and negotiated pricing & terms.

P&L responsibility for the Haldex friction businesses, including two manufacturing facilities and a network of brake shoe remanufacturing operations in the US and in Canada. Tasked to develop and execute a turn-around strategy for a chronically underperforming business. Products: Brake block, disc friction materials and relined brake shoes. Major Customers: Tier 1 OEMs, Major dealer organizations, Distributors/Marketing Groups, NAPA, and Fleets. Closed the US block plant and successfully outsourced block production to low-cost countries with no loss of business or service interruptions. Outsourcing generated $3.0 million in annual savings.Divested disc friction business to Randon Group of Brazil (Fras-Le) in June 2009. Sale generated a premium over the anticipated price.Turned brake shoe remanufacturing business into the industry leader by introducing lean processes, reducing costs, increasing volume and profits.

the U.S. and CEO of Haldex Limited in Canada. Responsible for Haldex Brake System's North American Sales, Marketing, Remanufacturing, Distribution, Logistics, Warranty & Product Liability Administration and Technical Support Activities. P& L responsibility for $180 million business with 500 employees operating three distribution facilities, a 15 unit brake shoe remanufacturing operation, and a large air brake component remanufacturing operation. Major customers: Truck and Trailer Builders, Axle and Diesel Engine Manufacturers, Independent Distributors, Marketing Groups, Truck and Trailer dealers, OEM service parts organizations, and NAPA (Genuine Parts Co.). Participated in several major acquisition activities, one of which, Anchorlok/Neway, was successfully consummated. Grew revenues and profitability.

Member of the executive staff of the Swedish parent company and reported to CEO of Haldex group. In year 2000, Haldex Midland Services Division was consolidated into Haldex Commercial Vehicle Systems Division.Consolidated the Haldex and Midland-Grau aftermarket businesses into Haldex's fourth operating division. Successfully managed transition of Midland-Grau brands into Haldex business while increasing revenues and income.Lead successful acquisition of an addition to the remanufacturing product line.

Operating Businesses included: Midland Brake Inc., a multi-plant operation with annual revenues of $192 million, supplying new and remanufactured air brake system components for heavy trucks, trailers, off-highway equipment, and the aftermarket. Prattville Manufacturing Inc., manufacturer of OEM light, medium, and heavy-duty disc brake and block friction materials. PMI generated $15 million in trade sales, but also supplies most of its block requirements for United Brake Systems; A heavy-duty brake shoe relining business with $33 million in annual revenue and 200 employees operating in 18 locations in the US and Canada. Reorganized three business operations to form market-focused business groups in 1996. Consolidated the business into an Aftermarket, OEM Air Brake and OEM Friction Groups. Lead North American business through series of divestiture actions by the corporate parent, Echlin, Inc. Kept the management team intact during the 2-year process.

Grew total revenue four-fold, from $60 million to $240 million and aftermarket revenue grew nearly five-fold from $30 million to $140 million in the same period. Developed industry-leading Midland-Grau North American Aftermarket business.Turned around the friction businesses from consecutive $10 million operating losses in 1989/1990 to $6 million operating profit by 1997. Participated in 20 plus heavy-duty business acquisition activities for Echlin Inc. - principal contributor to two successful acquisitions. Played key role in forming joint venture in India with the Anand Group to produce heavy-duty products for the Indian market. Negotiated an air brake systems partnership with Meritor-Wabco.
