Peter is a Manager in the healthcare practice of KPMG LLP. He advises clients on clinical transformation, technology implementation, virtual health, value based care, regulatory compliance, strategic policy, privacy, revenue cycle, investigations, mergers & acquisitions, and transactions. He has served in various interim compliance, privacy, and revenue cycle officer roles for hospitals, including academic medical centers, regional health systems, health plans, ACOs, TPAs, and long term care facilities. His responsibilities have placed him in charge of large and complex healthcare organizations operating in numerous states with thousands of patient beds and geographically dispersed teams. He has assisted organizations with Corporate Integrity Agreement (CIA) preparedness activities working closely with in-house and external Counsel to turn around compliance programs, including compliance and billing assessments that have led to voluntary disclosures. He has led and participated in conducting compliance and privacy investigations for healthcare organizations and has assisted lawyers representing hospitals and healthcare systems under investigation by various government entities (HHS-OIG, OCR, DOJ, State Attorneys General). He has conducted and led compliance, privacy, and billing and coding, due diligence assessments in advance of mergers or acquisitions for health plans, online retail pharmacies, skilled nursing facilities, hospices, home health agencies, and acute care providers, often advising clients on optimizing and modernizing the design, function, structure, and operation of their compliance programs. Peter is a frequent author and speaker on healthcare topics, with multiple peer reviewed publications in the Health Care Compliance Association’s (HCCA) Compliance Today magazine and the Association of Healthcare Internal Auditor’s (AHIA) New Perspectives magazine. He serves as the Chair of HCCA’s Philadelphia Regional Conference.Prior to joining KPMG, Peter spent over seven years with Deloitte and served in various roles at large health systems across the country. Peter also served on the Board of Trustees of Penn State University for a three year term as an appointee of Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett from 2011-2014. Peter served as the Vice Chairman of the standing Committee on Academic Affairs, Research, and Student Life for two terms. He is an alumnus of Penn State University and Widener School of Law.
