I joined Jacksons in January 2005 on a self-employed consultant basis. I bought into the company in January 2007 and became CEO.

I set out to provide simple, accessible financial planning information to the masses. I decided that video might be a good way to do this, and through trial and error, built a site full of basic instructional video.Through my work with this site, I was awarded IFALife's Scoial Media Financial Adviser of the Year award 2010 and I won the Professional.

I was the only adviser at an IFA practice owned by the Partners of Randle Thomas Solicitors in Helston. By mutual agreement we closed the business down towards the end of 2004, before I moved to Jacksons.

This was my first foray into the 'light side' of the financial services, as an IFA. A fantastic training ground, with a steady stream of prospects and great systems to deal with the business written. Plus some great friends made in the process.

My second role in financial services was as a mortgage and protection adviser for Royal & SunAlliance in their Property Services division. IN South Wales this traded as Allen & Harris. My role there was sourcing mortgages for many different types of homebuyers and making sure they had an adequate personal protection programme in place to enable them to pay.
