Hi all! My name is Pete and I am a Multimedia Content Producer / Director and Academic Technologist, offering expert media services to a wide array of clientele, including Educational, Non-Profit, Business, and Entertainment organizations. With over 25 years of award-winning experience in media production and 15+ years in higher education, I have a unique perspective on using media for storytelling, communication, and education. I recently completed a Master's Degree program in Learning Technologies at the University of Minnesota, and to round it off, I am a musician and have been writing & performing music since 1988.The sign on my desk says “Principal Media Producer” – which is intentionally a very vague title. I say “intentionally” because in my role I wear so many hats, and there’s really no one title that can capture them all. A fluffy, postmodern way to say it is that I am a “Digital Storyteller”. When it comes to digital multimedia content, I am a producer, director, cinematographer, camera operator, photographer, lighting technician, sound technician, grip, production coordinator, scriptwriter, video editor, graphic designer, and motion graphics animator. From my work in CEHD prior to coming to ICI, I also have a lot of experience in instructional design and supporting academic technology, and I recently completed my M.Ed. in Learning Technologies through the Regents Scholarship here at the University of Minnesota. A typical week will see me performing many of these roles, sometimes several in a day. However I must say that as I continue growing, I appreciate blocking time for monotasking over multitasking, and I love being able to fully check a box at the end of the day.I am a bit of extrovert, and really enjoy meeting people and making new friends, building networks, and especially supporting my local community.
