The Principal Media Producer is responsible for all aspects of video and multimedia production related to academic, outreach, and research projects in the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) at the University of Minnesota. This position requires project management, leadership and technical skill in assisting faculty and other subject matter experts to conceptualize, design and develop media-rich instructional technology projects. This position is responsible for managing projects from conception to completion and for overseeing the work of student employees and video production contractors. This position provides technical support and training on all aspects of media production to CEHD students, staff, and faculty. This position involves staying current on innovations in instructional technology related to media production.

I was a full-time video producer on staff with DWS for 6 years in the early aughts, where I think I can confidently say that I helped to shape the company identity, especially in its early years (ask me where the name comes from!). In my role here, I oversaw the production of various video communications pieces including corporate / industrial training materials, educational tutorials for various higher education clients, and direct response TV advertising.
