Peter Abeles passionate about creating novel and robust solutions for real world problems in robotics and computer vision. He has spent the past twenty years performing research and development for a wide range of customers, which include DARPA, NASA, various DOD (e.g. Army, Navy, Air Force), and various internal R&D projects, while in school and at different commercial companies. His current focus is on vision based recognition and localization, while past work include maneuvering target tracking, Kalman filters, localization (RF, LADAR, vision), autonomous robotic navigation, robotic mapping (LADAR and visual), stereo vision, GPS, image stabilization, ego motion estimation, and high performance computing. He is a strong proponent of open source software and open research. He is the primary developer of several successful open source projects and, through sheer force of will, has managed to get many papers published while at different commercial companies. Today he is working as an entrepreneur bringing cutting edge technology out of R&D and into real-world applications and as a consultant.BoofCV: http://boofcv.orgEJML: http://code.google.com/p/efficient-java-matrix-library/github: https://github.com/lessthanoptimalSpecialties: computer vision, localization, robotics, algorithm development, R&D, integration
