Through my position with this business renting out self-catering holiday cottages in Cornwall. I have gained valuable experience in dealing with clients on changeover days and taking bookings and payments over the phone and online.

A 10-week summer placement improving my communication skills, teamwork and decision making within a small professional business. The opportunity to carry on after the internship has allowed myself to continue the communication practice to high levels, continuing personal development of the business area and high organisation skills while working alongside university. The business sectors of human resources and employment law are vital areas in any industry and are highly transferable to any other business area.

Working part-time through two years of university, with previous experience making an easy transition into The Boathouse. Maintaining good timekeeping, developing decision-making and proving my high work-rate and adaptability in this large public house corporation.

Previous experience in tourism and hospitality made the transfer into this 4-star resort very comfortable. Working bar and also assisting chefs in the kitchen during busy times shows my flexibility within a highly demanding job where consistent quality is needed.

Extensive experience in customer service, communication and teamwork: my roles include working as a member of the bar staff, restaurant supervisor, kitchen chef and porter. Valuable experience from the age of 15 till working full time in my gap year learning great detail of the hospitality industry and the requirements needed to run a successful business.
