Educated at the universities of Ife and Port Harcourt in Nigeria and at institutions in the UK, I have taught at all senior levels of the education system – secondary, polytechnic, and university – mostly to students of science and technology. I specialise in English and Communication, Blended Learning with over 30 years of teaching experience across educational levels. In 2007 I received the Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship and visited the University of Sussex, UK as Senior Research Fellow where I took up the challenge of integrating technology into the language teaching curriculum. My current research focuses on Technology Integration in Curriculum, Innovative Pedagogies/Learning Spaces, Second Language Acquisition, Curriculum Development/Course Design, Blended Learning/Distance Learning/Mobile Learning. I lead the FUTA Blended Learning Research Group (BLRG) working on using Moodle LMS as a university-wide VLE platform. FUTA is one of few universities in Nigeria delivering courses via the VLE to on-campus students. I have presented research findings in the area of Blended Learning at Durham University, UK (April 2007), E-Learning Africa, Dakar Senegal (2009), Lusaka Zambia( May 2010), Cardiff, UK (April 2009) and ICEL, University of Toronto, Canada (July 2009), iPED Coventry, UK (2010), Tanzania (May 2011), SOLSTICE Edge Hill University UK (June 2012), Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Cape Town, South Africa (ICEL, June 2013); led a workshop at Elearning Africa Conference, Windhoek, Namibia (May 2013) and at several institutions in Nigeria.
