About Peter Alexander
I studied Leisure Management to Honours Degree level before entering the leisure industry as Assistant Mgr of a Powerleague 5-a-Side Centre in Edinburgh at the age of 23. Within three years I was promoted to General Manager of that site & remained in the commercial 5-a-side business for the best part of eight years managing four different venues.I then conciously moved into the public sector as the General Mgr of Petershill Park Leisure Centre with the ultimate aim of becoming the manger of a Glasgow City Council flagship facility within a few years. In 2010 I was promoted to Assistant Cluster Manager at Scotstoun Leisure Centre, one of the counties largest and most successful Leisure facilities. During my time at Scotstoun I was specifically tasked with managing Glasgow Lifes relationship with Glasgow Warriors rugby during their transition into Scotstoun Stadium. I am also Safety Officer during their league seasons and involved in the event planning and match day operations. I have been involved in the event mgt of many prestigious events such as IRB World Series Rugby 7s, Scottish Senior Athletics Championships, Aegon Tennis Championships and more. I have seen the "Best Games Ever" come and go in Glasgow 2014, my specific role being Spectator Safety Officer of Scotstoun Sports Campus who hosted the Squash & Table Tennis competitions. Became Area Operations Manager for 6yrs for the South West covering venues such as Bellahouston, Nethercraigs, Pollok, Palace of Art, Ibrox and Drumoyne before returning to Scotstoun Sports Campus as General Manager in March 2022.
