Financial Analyst in Wholesale Markets Optimisation FinanceResponsible for reporting and explaining movements in P&L's for the forward trading of Power, Gas, Coal and Carbon and ensuring accurate allocation of value within the Trading Risk Management system.Additionally responsible for understanding and explaining market movements and the impact that these have on both trading P&L's and the company's supply business energy costs.This role required constant use of my strong analytical skills to logically work through complex problems as well as constantly improving my knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Accountant for EDF EN Services UK - EDF's windfarm Operation & Maintenance company.Sole accountant responsible for providing monthly management reporting, financial reporting, preparing the company's statutory accounts and acting as a business partner for ad hoc financial analysis.Feedback on my performance has been strong, with the quality of stakeholder reporting noted to have improved considerably during my time in the role.

A 14 month industrial placement within the hydrocarbon accounting function of the business gave me a wide range of industry experience in various areas including volume reporting, commercial gas sales agreements, energy allocation, gas balancing, loss reporting and well allocation. This year also vastly built on my Microsoft excel skills as well as interpersonal skills through dealing with a number of colleagues across the business.

Returned to KPMG for another week long work experience in the audit department. Tasks included reviewing ledgers and financial statements.
