About Peter Angus (Pharm.D., Ph.D.)
Peter has 23 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Following 9 years of increasing responsibilities working in pharmaceutical sciences analytical development groups in big pharma, in 2008 he took a risk and joined a small start-up CRO with the goal of taking part in building a new company from the ground up and making it successful. Over the next 13 years Peter played an integral role in the development, management, steady growth, and profitability of the company. Once the company was successfully acquired by a larger CDMO, Peter exited to pursue other entrepreneurial opportunities and develop new skills. Out of necessity in a growing a small CRO, Peter quickly became highly competent in formulation development in addition to capitalizing upon his talents in analytical development and project management to add value to the company. He utilized his expertise in pre-clinical and early-phase analytical, formulation development, and small-scale clinical manufacturing to develop topical gels and creams, oral solutions, soft gel capsules, powder-in-a-capsule, and parenteral formulations for over 100 clients ranging in size from virtual companies to large pharma. He is well versed in pre-clinical, early phase pharmaceutical development (IND) and some late-stage development (ANDA) CMC support activities. Peter’s contributions helped to establish the company as a trusted and dependable CRO partner which fostered a robust repeat client business. Peter’s responsibilities extended beyond project management, client relations and serving as an SME for CMC activities. He managed the activities in the research labs, clinical trial manufacturing (CTM) operations and research and CTM team personnel. Peter championed the development strategy for the company and was responsible for recruitment and hiring of new personnel. His leadership strengths were highlighted in 2020 with the challenges of the COVD-19 pandemic and shutdowns.
