I am passionate about renewable energy and energy efficiency and actively involved in related projects.To that end I studied for an MPhil Energy and Development at UCT's Energy Research Centre and graduated in December 2013.I am now putting the theory I have learnt into practice through carbon trading in the voluntary carbon market and carbon emission reduction consulting (for Credible Carbon and PACE) as well as doing freelance research for the Electricity Governance Initiative. In addition, I am now working part-time for Greencape (www.green-cape.co.za) in a Smart Grid project.Previously I worked in the oil industry (Operations Research e.g. refinery optimisation, IT technical architecture, telecommunications e.g. Sub-Saharan Africa satellite network, IT Project Management). Since 2001, I have been doing freelance IT consultancy, editing textbooks and have written two textbooks on computer programming (published by Troupant-MacMillan).Specialties: Project management, sustainable energy, energy efficiency, renewable energy, smart grids, demand response, telecommunications, and supply chain management and tender processes (RFI, RFQ).
