I engineered bispecific antibodies from phage display derived immunoglobulins to mimic Interleukine-2 agonism with an improved pharmaceutical profile. From an extensive library of bispecific antibody candidates, I identified a lead antibody with agonism and characterized it extensively. (see above list of patents and publications)For my work, I researched novel applications of bispecific antibodies. I independently planned, designed and performed experiments. I mentored interns, established novel technologies, and supervised experiments. My diploma thesis contributed to the understanding of interactions between Multidrug resistance transporters and nitro compounds. Using an extensive library of multi-drug resistant cancer cell lines, I assayed drug derivatives for their competitive inhibition of ABC transporter mediated drug resistance. I found that NO- modification of Saquinavir enhanced its inhibitory potency with implications for drug design. I successfully planned and performed experiments.
