About Peter Bach

I am a mechanical engineer with a wide skillset, a drive to succeed and a deep passion for the art of engineering. For more than 20 years, I’ve applied my skills to the fuel cell industry. What got me started working with fuel cells was a desire to change the world for the better and it’s what has kept me working in the industry for all this time. I’ve had the opportunity to work with many cultures, industries and applications. At one time or another, I’ve worked with most of the world’s leading automakers. I’ve also worked in the materials handling, back up power, distributed power generation, and aviation markets. In each of these industries, I’ve faced unique technical and business challenges. For me, overcoming these challenges has been a source of both excitement and professional growth. I’ve also had the privilege of leading incredibly talented people from diverse backgrounds. I love getting the most out of the team by creating an environment that fosters teamwork and innovation.I’m equally happy leading small teams with aggressive, near term, objectives like Ballard’s 30 kW product line or long term automotive programs with large budgets, high technical risk, and complex trade offs.Specialties: Fuel Cells and Fuel Cell Systems ExpertInnovative problem solvingTechnical LeadershipCustomer Interfacing and NegotiationBusiness Case development and executionProject ManagementMentoring
