I believe we as engineers and designers have a primary responsibility to help create a sustainable future. My vision was for Arup to meaningfully and demonstrably contribute to a sustainable future through a deeper understanding of social, economic and planetary needs, and the development of practical, innovative solutions in the built environment.My role involved development of global strategy, policy, and an implementation plan, and involved the mobilisation of a global coalition of change agents across the globe, all passionate about making a difference. The key ambition was to make Arup relevant to the future.

During my time as Buildings Practice Leader for the Australasian region of Arup I grew the buildings practice in size and capability, gaining recognition as a market leader.I was responsible for design and management of multidisciplinary projects, with a particular focus on the holistic blend of architecture and engineering to produce sustainable outcomes. I have extensive experience in large public buildings including sports, education and cultural facilities, transport buildings and significant private developments in the commercial buildings sector.Key projects include the award winning Parramatta Transport Interchange (Sydney).
