After seven years as the Chair of Arup in Australasia, and seven years on the global Arup Group Board, including as Director of Sustainable Development, I have now been appointed as a Trustee of Arup. Arup is a Trust-owned company and the role of a Trustee is to administer the Trusts in the interests of the beneficiaries, which (uniquely) is all of Arup's staff, and charitable causes. It is a privilege to hold this role for such an esteemed company. The role involves protecting and promoting the strong socially-minded values of Arup.In addition to this role I have also returned to leading projects for Arup based in Sydney. In this role I hope to be able to achieve even more sustainable project outcomes working in partnership with our clients.

My vision was for Arup to meaningfully and demonstrably contribute to a sustainable future through a deeper understanding of social, economic and planetary needs, and the development of practical, innovative solutions in the built environment. My role involved development of global strategy, policy, and an implementation plan, and involved the mobilisation of a global coalition of change agents across the globe, all passionate about making a difference.
