As a lifelong learner and committed athlete, Peter is coached and engages with mentors as part of his own fitness journey. He can often be found at local group swims, on long rides, and at triathlons of all shapes and sizes - short course, Escape From Alcatraz, IRONMAN, and XTERRA events.He is a teacher at heart and his focus on education is reflected in his training. Peter earned a Ph.D. in mathematics education (but don’t call him doctor), a bachelor’s in both mathematics and physical education, a master in mathematics education and an MBA. He participates on Boards at the universities where he is an alum, including the Sports Science Institute International Council and Faculty of Education Advisory Board at McGill University and the Executive Board at University of Texas at Dallas. Peter is an advocate of closing the gender gap, especially in STEM education, and is part of the National High-Tech High Heels Advisory Council and the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas.
