Peter Balyta, Ph.D., is president of Texas Instruments - Education Technology. He’s responsible for directing global teams with the mission of improving the teaching and learning of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) subjects. Throughout his career, Peter has been committed to helping students strengthen their knowledge of math and science, and build the confidence to pursue advanced STEM courses that create paths to rewarding careers.Peter holds a Ph.D. in mathematics and technology education and a bachelor’s in mathematics and physical education from McGill University, where he is the proud chair of the Faculty of Education Advisory Board and member of the Sports Science Institute International Council. As a board director of the Perot Museum of Nature and Science and partner to local robotics programs, Peter is passionate about inspiring minds through nature and STEM education. Peter is also a community partner in helping close the gender gap in STEM through his active participation on the National High-Tech High Heels Advisory Council, as well as his leadership role on the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas Board of Directors as a member of the Executive Committee and chair of the Strategic Planning Committee. Before starting his career at TI in 2000, Peter was a mathematics educator and district supervisor for mathematics, science, health and physical education. In all his roles at TI, he has brought his enthusiasm and experience from the classroom to support and drive TI’s education vision: Equip and inspire future generations of leaders and engineers.
