I have been involved in the front line of Frontier Markets and Africa almost my entire 34-year career and have illustrated my entrepreneurial skills in this field by setting up one of the world’s leading investment banking businesses in this sector, Exotix (now known as Tellimer). This was probably my most notable achievement and I worked on various significant African private equity projects while I was building Exotix into one of the world’s premier Frontier Market investment banks and brokers for both African equity and fixed income. I have approximately 16 years direct experience with a proven track record in structuring and investing in African private equity. I have focused not only private equity but also Alternative Investment Management and Investment Banking with a strong impact angle throughout Africa, South Asia and the Caribbean. My particular niches include African Markets and Impact & Development so my network and relationships in this sphere are second to none in diversity and usefulness. I have over a decade of experience in investment management and set up my first specialist fund in 2007 (Insparo Asset Management) where I stay on the Advisory Board's Investment Committee for several years. More recently I have focused on impact and development not only through my role at GML/ESATAL but also in my private angel/venture capital investing capacity or through my involvement with Lyford Capital, Homestrings and Adjuvo.
