I have had an enjoyable career in marketing and market research over the last 50 years: -- in the sixties, with NOP, The Times and Sunday Times, and with setting up the UK Harris Poll,-- in the seventies with the Harris research firm in New York and Los Angeles-- in the eighties as Marketing Director with the American Express European HQ in Brighton-- in 1987, set up my own company ARC and later joined it with the City Research Group till they were both sold in 2000. Meanwhile I spent the year 1989 as Chairman of the Market Research Society and, with 41 others, set up the Research Network in 2002.My wife Mary had a distinguished career with NOP, RSGB, the English Tourist Board and British Airways until we sadly lost her to cancer 16 years ago.I am now advancing in years but willing and able to be useful with all my experience and faculties. My main focus these days lies in helping to develop the Archive of Market and Social Research, of which I am an active Trustee.
