After teaching in Sacramento for 27 years I’ve found a new challenge/ opportunity in Greenfield CA as an academic coach working with their new Verizon Innovative Learning Schools program. It’s a great opportunity to take all of my skills and apply them in new ways. Very exciting and fun position. For 27 years I was a teacher in the Sacramento Area who has worked primary with 7 - 12th grade students. (mainly 7th grade).I have directly taught English, English Language Development, Math, Design (an IB course that is project based and cross curricular),World History, US History and History of the Americas (An International Baccalaureate advance course)I am also a 10 plus year mentor teacher and Induction support provider.I have also trained teachers in small groups and large presentations from Common Core, ERWC (Expository Reading and Writing Curriculum) and using ELA skills in non ELA classes.I have also been the primary tech support person on my site to help students and teachers through their various tech issues from getting hardware to work as well as knowing which program to use for what lesson/ task.I have also been the team leader of UIA's Career Day program for more than 10 years bring a large collection of adults to my school to interact and help students to find their paths forward beyond school.
