CurrentINDEPENDENT IT CONTRACTOR – 2011 – present. Roanoke VA area. • Repair or upgrade user’s PC’s. Salvage data from failing hard drives with bare metal imaging software to restore data to new drives. Schedule Tasks to clean up drives on MS XP PC’s.• Remove Malware and viruses. Report Malware attacks to FTC. • Install USB hubs and external USB drives for data backup and configure wireless router security.• Create backup Administrator accounts on PC’s to allow repair of corrupted user profiles.• Maximize PC performance. Manually set page file parameters for increased security and performance for disk and processor intensive applications including Audio / Video production and Audio / Video / Digital Photography Transcoding. Advise users on hardware choices to minimize compute time for any task and stabilize the Operating system by disabling unstable processes and services. Assist users with upgrades to high speed RAM 4 GB minimum and high performance drives, 720k 512mb cache SATA or Solid State drives. Review backup procedures and exemplify advanced backup software with Military grade encrypted external USB drives mirrored to Cloud internet storage.
