Delivery of performance impacting innovative projects to National Governing Bodies, UK Sport, The English Institute of Sport and commercial organisations. Working on technical projects ranging from specific equipment to multi-million pound new facilities. Each of these projects represents an opportunity for a step-change in established practice to enhance performance for a generation or more.I'm currently working on a groundbreaking new training facility for British Swimming with the support of The UK Sports Institute and UK Sport. Before that, I oversaw the delivery of British Cycling's new wind tunnel in Manchester, completing the project on time and on budget. Recent projects include delivery of a needs analysis and performance case to British Cycling and UK Sport for a new training facility attached to the National Cycling Centre in ManchesterAdvising a leading British Olympic team on technical rules compliance in advance of the Tokyo 2020 OlympicsI continue to work with TotalSim, a south-Midlands-based world-leading fluids research and development organisation to revolutionise high-performance aero and hydrodynamic performance across a range of sports.

Alongside my Sports Engineering work, I also provide technical and management support for Tanya Bentley Ltd, a leading West-country Interior Architecture and design studio. I'm active in CAD design work alongside my technical expertise in the building and construction industry. I'm responsible for the IT, CAD and project management systems. I also take charge of the technical and compliance aspects of the business.

Responsible for all issues relating to technical compliance with a complex set of rules and regulations in a highly technical arena.Late recruitment to an established but underperforming America’s Cup Team required the rapid assimilation of large quantities of complex technical material and the ability to influence and direct critical design decisions within a time- and resource-limited environment. This led to incremental change in team operations and yacht-reliability. With no directly reporting team members, the ability to change behaviour and steer outcomes was highly dependent on developing personal relationships and the application of influencing skills.

Leading the English Institute of Sport Research and Innovation Team through a period of substantial change following the transfer of management to the EIS from direct UK Sport control. This tested all aspects of business and technical leadership. Concurrently, the Research and Innovation Team successfully provided input and support to a broad range of sports and disciplines leading to specific medal-impacting outcomes at the Rio Olympics.

Recruited to the EIS Board to provide engineering and technical expertise. This role involved high-level management of the organisation and involvement in the strategic demands of board operations.

A broad ranging role covering all aspects of the technical preparation of the team, boats and athletes.Working in collaboration with team management, coaches, athletes, and sports scientists. A key member of the senior management team reporting to the Olympic Manager. Direct contribution to medal-winning performance at four Olympic Games (2004-2012).
