Mr. Bernstein is a Chief Economist at RCF Economic and Financial Consulting, Inc., with over 35 years of experience in economics, consulting, and academia. He is also part of the DePaul University Department of Economics, where he teaches undergraduate classes in economics and finance. He previously taught economics at Loyola University of Chicago. He is President of the Chicago Association of Business Economists. Mr. Bernstein has a B.A. and M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. Mr. Bernstein provides quarterly forecasts of macroeconomic variables for the Philadelphia Federal Reserve’s Survey of Professional Forecasters, as well as for Thompson-Reuters economic surveys and Zillow’s surveys of housing price expectations. He is also experienced in directing studies and surveys, having done work for the Center for Naval Analyses, the Chicago Department of Aviation, the City of Chicago, and leads RCF’s analysis of the Household Diary Study, an annual survey of over 10,000 households on behalf of USPS. Mr. Bernstein has also presented more than a dozen testimonies on behalf of the United States Postal Service in regulatory proceedings, postal rate cases, and labor arbitration hearings.
