Staff Engineer October 2010 to Present ● Herman Hot Metal Reduction Project. Developed and programmed robot used to move short sprue tubs to unload area. Project had 700K energy and maintenance savings. Project required extensive time to understand Herman Molding Machine’s stepper sequences, HMC-1 shakeout conveyor Small-ware picker system, Auto-pour vision system and all related PLC logic. ● Legacy Equipment Replacements Working in conjunction with maintenance, created a network of external resources to acquire needed parts on robotic work-cells that have extremely high replacement costs or are obsoleted. Specific examples include: Herman Auto-pour controller, Asea IRB-60 disk drives, and Sinkline robot wrist replacements. ● ATL Packing Optimization Project Designed, installed and programmed all necessary automated robotic equipment used to automate the tub packing process. Project was heavily involved with Packaging Engineering and outside packaging manufactures to develop the system. Senior Manufacturing Project Engineer September 2002 to October 2010 ● ATL Additional Shapes Project. ● Created all programming needed to replace furnace loading system used in the ATL. ● Led, designed, and implemented KOS Continuous Improvement Business Process Redesign which improved the robotic cooling suits and lowered heat related failures. This has a 14K/year savings. ● Reynosa Abrasive/Scotchbrite Stainless Steel Work-cells. Over a 3 year period, and 100 days of on-site work in Reynosa, MX, I helped design, develop, program, and install 10 robotic work-cells in Reynosa, MX. ● Green Belt Project: Alternative Arc Spray
