I am a highly experienced construction professional with a degree in Building Science / Construction Management, Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh. I have in excess of 35 years’ experience in multiple forms of construction as a Project Manager and Contractor. Prior to forming Blain Projects in 1992, I worked with some of SA’s leading contractors and property developers. Blain Projects’ first major contract was the successful delivery of Boipuso Hall Convention Centre, in Gaborone, for the Government of Botswana. This was a fast track operation successfully completed in six months from submission of proposal to hand over on schedule for the EEC / ACP joint convention hosted in April 1993. Blain Projects successfully delivered many assignments over the years either as project managers for sister companies or as contractors and turnkey developers for a broad range of clients. One notable area of expertise was gained through our work in the highly specialised arena of healthcare facility construction where, as MD of the company, I gained invaluable experience in the construction of hospitals as well as additions / alterations of existing facilities in live and sensitive environments. Duties: Section Engineer responsible for all aspects of the construction of the Cooling Water System at Letabo Power Station reporting to the contract director. Site Agent responsible for the construction of the Usutu Rail Bridge over The Great Usutu River in Swaziland.

 Assisted the senior programmer with the programming of all sections of the construction of the original Menlyn Park Shopping Centre in Pretoria.
