With 800 + staff & providing support for over 60 customers worldwide it is a dynamic environment always striving to keep ahead of the game. Predominantly SQL based with in-house software- duties included 2nd & 3rd level Application & IT support to customers, as well as SQL production database maintenance, upgrades & support. Key responsibilities included:• Maintenance & Support of SQL Server 2005/08 databases• Support & Troubleshooting of SQL replication• Writing T-SQL queries for resolving & optimizing in-house applications• Quality assurance of processes, systems and applications • On site engineer- travelling to new customer locations to setup entire application environment (Web & DB servers) • Working with project managers to ensure successful rollout of new systems & products in agreed timelines• Training and Mentoring of new starts as well as training team on new products / infrastructure changes• 2nd & 3rd level support for Customer Databases, Servers and Web-based applications• Technical writing for software applications, installations, quality assurance & troubleshooting guidelines• Responding to customer requests, queries, and issues through call logging system- adhering to SLAs• Software Engineer- working on projects including migrations of systems, software applications & data• Installation of upgrades and patches on databases, servers and applications• Working with SQL developers to troubleshoot & resolve application code errors (C#, XML, T-SQL)• Working with developers on automation of deployment projects & documenting processes• Analysing & determining severity of problems, whilst identifying most appropriate solution• Ensuring shift handovers concise & clear as well as following up on issues confirming satisfactory resolution
