Started my own IT Consultancy business servicing small to medium size business for a large range of IT consultancy services.Presently contracting to NSW Health as a solutions architect.Company has also been created to complete Senior Messaging Consultancy roles as they come up as per the contact completed for NSW Health this year.

I was brought into complete a messaging migration project for NSW Health. A senior messaging resource / technical team lead was required to get this project completed on time for NSW Health and the environment for Randwick Hospital where I was based was an environment that had been largely neglected for over 7 years. This meant there were a lot of legacy systems that needed to be identified and migrated to the new eHealth messaging platforms as well as working with various IT teams to help identify their systems and get them migrated with a minimum of impact to their production systems. I was also used as a technical team lead to help educate and technically lead an IT support team to get this project completed. Whilst it presented many challenges, the project was completely on time with no production impacts to any systems or users in the Randwick, St George and Wollongong hospitals with a user base of approximately 40,000 users. Some of these systems deliver time sensitive, mission critical reports so completing this contract in a very clean manner was pleasing and definitely a requirement that had to be met. My powershell skills were used extensively as there were a large number of users that needed to be managed and systems to be identified and migrated as part of this project.

My primary technical focus was on my messaging responsibilities regionally and globally along with server administrator responsibilities as well. I was frequently called upon for architect, design and implementation ideas for Exchange, External MTA evaluations / deployments, Email archiving and other messaging related products. This also includes overseas trips to consult in the US and UK regions in relation to messaging design and deployments. I was promoted to the role of Sydney Site Manager. As well as keeping all of my duties as the Asia-Pacific Messaging administrator as described in the next section, I was responsible for all Sydney IT infrastructure issues. This covers all aspects of management and it was my responsibility that our internal client’s needs are being met. I was responsible for any major IT related projects that occur in the Sydney site. This included being responsible for delivering projects in a timely fashion and under budget. There are 7 different business units in the Sydney site each with their own unique demands of infrastructure’s time and was my job to allocate the IT resources as I see appropriate.
