I’ve been a self-employed ESL teacher in Zurich for 29 years. My field has changed immensely over all these years. From paper books to e-books, from chalkboards to interactive smart boards, from presential to online classes. Today I have a state-of-the-art digital classroom able to provide high quality online and onsite classes. Some things haven’t changed though, such as my commitment to your success and development in the English language; my efforts and ability to present and explain the teaching material clearly, recognizing and understanding your needs, enjoying interacting with you, empathizing with your concerns and maintaining a positive and fun learning atmosphere keeping you focused and motivated; my flexibility and accessibility at any time you need help by writing an e-mail, preparing a business presentation, or needing to re-schedule a lesson you will miss because of a trip or had missed because you were sick.I offer English Language Training for adults in a combination of a traditional frontal teaching, yet online or onsite and supervised learning on a digital platform where you can develop your full potential in all four skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing. The e-learning platform is an online homework tool. Activities combined with video and audio resources allow you to practice the content you have studied with me in class in an interactive environment. Monitoring your performance on the e-learning platform, I can provide you useful feedback, identify your strengths but also the subjects that are more challenging incorporating them in our lesson, delivering a productive, interesting, tailor-made and fun lesson week after week. In short, with this Blended Learning you have the best of both worlds: the proven possibilities of E-Learning and the central role of my personal support, complementing each other wonderfully. There are many ways to measure your English knowledge. But how do you feel about your English skills? If you are afraid of making mistakes and keep using just what you already know, you stay within your own linguistic comfort zone and stop making progress. It’s actually a normal human reaction, because it’s much safer to stay there. It's my job to recognize when you have reached the point where you are sticking to your comfort zone and to kindly nudge you out of it: Learning starts at the end of your comfort zone. Learning is a process with learning curves, rapid progress and standstills. But with the right mindset, tools, method, and engagement it becomes an amazing adventure, which is empowering and fun.
